What happens in a coaching session?

We go through the question, your reading and your outline, and work out what the argument actually is. You’ll leave with a structure and a short list of what to do next. Between sessions your coach responds to whatever you send.

Can you help with just one section?

Yes, and it’s often the cheapest way to get unstuck. Plenty of people come with a single chapter, a methodology section or an introduction that won’t start, rather than a whole project.

My supervisor said it’s “not critical enough”. Can you help?

It’s one of the most common things we work on. It usually means you’re describing sources rather than putting them in conversation with each other. We’ll show you the difference on your own paragraphs.

My deadline is Friday. Can you help this week?

Often, yes — but be honest with us about the date. If there isn’t time to do it properly we’ll tell you what’s realistic instead of taking your money.
